Peran Pendidikan Karakter dalam Menjaga Kesehatan Mental Remaja di Era Modern

Abstract





Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran pendidikan karakter dalam menjaga kesehatan mental remaja di tengah tantangan zaman modern. Pendidikan karakter bukan hanya berfungsi untuk membentuk sikap dan perilaku yang positif, tetapi juga menawarkan dukungan dalam memperkuat ketahanan mental remaja terhadap tekanan psikologis seperti tekanan akademik, pengaruh media sosial, serta perubahan sosial yang terjadi dengan cepat. Latar belakang penelitian ini dipandang penting karena menunjukkan kebutuhan akan peningkatan pemahaman mengenai masalah kesehatan mental remaja dan peran pendidikan dalam mendorong penguatan nilai dan karakter secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, yaitu melalui pengumpulan dan analisis berbagai sumber literatur seperti buku, artikel jurnal ilmiah, serta hasil penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan dengan pendidikan karakter dan kesehatan mental remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan remaja dalam mengendalikan diri, memiliki sikap tanggung jawab, menunjukkan empati, serta mengelola emosi dan stres secara efektif.  Selain itu, pendidikan karakter juga bertindak sebagai upaya pencegahan untuk mengurangi risiko munculnya masalah kesehatan mental. Namun, penerapan pendidikan karakter di era modern menghadapi tantangan, terutama karena pengaruh lingkungan digital dan kurangnya konsistensi dalam penerapannya di lingkungan pendidikan. Dengan demikian, pendidikan karakter memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga kesehatan mental remaja dengan strategi pembelajaran yang terintegrasi, kontekstual, serta mampu merespons dinamika perkembangan zaman.
