Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Journal of Education and Social Sciences (JEDSOC) is committed to publishing original research and upholding high standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable, and all submissions are checked to ensure they are free from plagiarism. The journal’s plagiarism policy is as follows:
-
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes the use of another person's ideas, words, data, or creative work without appropriate acknowledgment or permission. This includes self-plagiarism, where an author reuses significant portions of their previously published work without proper citation. -
Screening Process
All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reputable plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts that exceed a certain threshold of similarity may be rejected immediately or returned to the author for revision. -
Consequences of Plagiarism
- Minor Plagiarism: If minor plagiarism is detected (e.g., phrases or sentences without proper citation), the authors will be requested to revise the manuscript and properly attribute all sources.
- Major Plagiarism: If a significant level of plagiarism is found, such as copying large sections of text, the manuscript will be rejected outright, and the authors may be barred from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.
-
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and must properly cite any content from other sources. Submissions must be the authors’ own original work and should not have been published previously. -
Retraction and Correction
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and publish a notice of retraction or correction, as deemed necessary.
JEDSOC aims to maintain ethical standards and prevent plagiarism to protect the integrity of the academic record and uphold the quality of its publications.
